Derrick is a student support specialist. He works at Salt Lake Community College, where he has helped students who were striving to change their lives through education. He previously worked at Microsoft in a role focused on improving employee well-being and began his career as an AmeriCorps VISTA at Youth Futures, a shelter home for young people in Utah.
