Geffry has been a resident of Riverdale, Clayton County for over 32 years and is married with two daughters. He holds an Associate's Degree in Specialized Technology and Marketing, a Bachelor's Degree of Religious Arts in Christian Education, a Master of Arts in Divinity, and a PhD of Theology. Dr. Tate is also a pastor at Greater Purpose Ministries.

Geffry is the Pastor of Greater Purpose Ministries and operates Elizabeth M. Designs, a training provider in the clothing manufacturing industry. He previously worked for Federated Stores as a layout supervisor in the marketing department. Additionally, he serves on the Association of Christian Ministers of Clayton County Board and is the Chairman of Greater Harvest District in Clayton.
