Tamara was born and raised in Chatham County. She earned a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems from DeVry University and a juris master degree from Emory University School of Law. She has lived in DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties for the last 28 years. She has two young adult sons.

Tamara owns a beauty salon. She is the Founder and President of The Concerned Beauty and Barber Professionals, an organization that addresses the need to protect the health and safety of Licensed Beauty and Barber Professionals.
