Valencia is from southside Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Southside Comprehensive High School and Fulton High School. She has a bachelors in business administration from Fort Valley State University, and a masters of business administration from Georgia State University. She raised two children as a single mom.

Valencia is the Managing Member of the Georgia Youth Career Center, LLC. She has worked there for almost 2 years. She is also a Managing Partner of Val Promotions for 6 years. She previously worked at Stovall Enterprises and the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.

Valencia Stovall's campaign for Georgia's 5th Congressional District is her first campaign for a federal seat. Valencia served in the Georgia House of Representatives when she was elected in 2012. She served in the Georgia House of Representatives for 8 years and 1 month. She also ran for the US Senate in 2020, but she did not win.
