Nikema Williams is from Columbus, Georgia and raised by her grandparents in Smiths Stations, Alabama. She has a bachelors of arts degree in biology from Talladega College. She lives with her husband and son in Atlanta, Georgia and are members of the Central United Methodist Church.

Nikema is a Representative for Georgia's 5th Congressional District at the U.S. House of Representatives for the last two years. She previously worked at the National Domestic Workers Alliance, the Georgia General Assembly as a Georgia State Senator, and at Planned Parenthood Southeast.

Nikema Williams is currently the Representative representing Georgia's 5th Congressional District. She was elected in 2020 and is serving her first term. Valencia is from southside Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Southside Comprehensive High School and Fulton High School. She has a bachelors in business administration from Fort Valley State University, and a masters of business administration from Georgia State University. She raised two children as a single mom.
