- County Supervisors are members of a county-level board called the Board of Supervisors. The board runs the county government, including setting county priorities and funding projects with a multi-million dollar county budget. 
- The board is in charge of county roads, ferries, bridges, law enforcement, collections, fines, and taxes. They also appoint some county-level officials. 
- Decisions made by county supervisors directly impact economic development, public health, safety, and welfare of county citizens.

- Mississippi has 82 Justice Courts with 197 Justice Court Judges.

- The Lieutenant Governor (Lt. Governor for short) is similar to the Vice President of the United States. If the Governor is incapacitated for any reason, the Lt. Governor takes over their powers until the Governor recovers or the term ends.
- The Lt. Governor influences which new laws get passed by using their role as the President of the State Senate. Mississippi has one of the most powerful Lt. Governors in the country, with the power to decide which state senators serve on which committees and control over which bills get referred to which committees and when. This means that they can move forward bills that they support and block those that they oppose. 
- The Lt. Governor supervises debate in the State Senate, guiding the discussion of legislation and casting tie-breaking votes when necessary. 
- The Lt. Governor is elected every four years in odd years before a presidential election (2023, 2027, 2031, etc.). Each Lt. Governor can be in office for two back to back terms, then must leave office but can be reelected in the future.

- The Attorney General helps maintain a fair and just state by filing lawsuits against individuals or companies that violate regulations and laws. The Attorney General is also the chief legal advisor to the state governor.
- The Attorney General represents Mississippi’s government agencies, boards, and commissions in court cases. Only they can bring a civil case by the state or defend the state in a legal case. 
- The Attorney General has the power to appoint special investigations and prosecutors to investigate or try criminal cases on behalf of the state.
