Mississippi Attorney General

• Public Health — The Attorney General has the power to set state policy on and bring court cases about important public health issues, such as abortion. For example, in 2021 the Mississippi Attorney General argued for overturning Roe v. Wade at the Supreme Court.

• Corruption — The Attorney General can investigate and prosecute cases of corruption, such as elected officials that commit ethics violations or misuse state money.
