Arnetta is a special education teacher at Houston Independent School District. She previously worked as a special education teacher at AB Schools in East Harris County Department of Education, as a case manager at Houston Independent School District, as a teacher at JJAEP for emotionally disturbed students and students with autism, and at various other HISD campuses including Scanlon Oaks Elementary, Garcia Middle School, and Bank McAuliffe Middle School. She also worked as a correspondent for MileSplit Inc., reporting track and field events. She has more than 20 years of experience in special education.

Political background

Arnetta is currently a Councilmember representing Place 2 for the City of Iowa Colony. She was appointed to the council by Mayor Michael Byrum-Bratsen in 2018-2019 and was elected to the seat on November 3, 2021. She is serving her third term. She previously ran for Brazoria County Commissioner and the Alvin ISD School Board and did not win.
