Milton Cobb, 53, was born and raised in Pilot Mountain on North Depot Street in a home his grandfather built in 1945. A senior IT specialist and security analyst at Bernard Robinson & Company, the accounting firm that audited Pilot Mountain’s finances, Cobb holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems and a master’s in information systems management with a focus on information security.

Mr. Cobb stated that he was born and raised in Pilot Mountain and currently serves on the TDA. He mentioned that while he had no experience in government, he worked with 3 international law firms and he currently works with Bernard Robinson Co. as their chief security analyst in the IT department. He believes that his experience over the last 30 years in working with people in different situations would help him be a commissioner for Pilot Mountain and represent a demographic that really isn’t represented in Surry County or Pilot Mountain.

What areas of concern would you like to see the board/committee address?
My chief area of concern is to my neighborhood of Depot Street and all of the surrounding streets that are connected to our downtown area. We should be fixing up these main roads as those are the roads that tourists use to access our downtown area during Car Shows, May-Fest etc. Those roads, should have sidewalks and bigger and more speed bumps.
