McCurry said she stopped living at the Bostic address in July 2023. She’s moved around living at different places in Forest City before moving to 454 E. Main St., about eight months ago based on the evidence presented during the hearing. Her company Arrowood Venture Properties LLC owns several properties in Forest City including 204 and 210 E. Main St.

It’s McCurry’s first time running for office. She’s also known as Sunshine McCurry, a name she’s carried for many years. Holland first ran for mayor in November 2017 unopposed. The pair are the only two candidates running with voters to decide who will become their next mayor.

Kimberly is running for public office for the first time.

“I plan to turn the building at 204 S. Broadway into apartments and it will be owner-occupied,” she said. A concrete parking lot has been recently added to the front of the building. There’s also no trespassing signs posted in several windows. McCurry said she’s had problems with homeless people loitering at the site.
