Deja obtained a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Louisville. She is currently working on her masters in Government with a concentration in political communications from Johns Hopkins University.

She is currently the President of the Council of Friends (of the Library), Neighborhood House, and a member of Jack and Jill Derby City chapter. She was the 2019 President of Louisville Youth Group.

She got her feet wet volunteering on Jack Conway’s senatorial campaign. She served as a legislative intern and an intern for Emerge Kentucky. Since moving back to Louisville, Deja has been very active in the community serving on a variety of boards that reflect her love of reading and youth.
