William Wade is originally from Dawsonville, Georgia. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting from North Georgia College and State University. He also completed a graduate degree in banking through the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking, and a graduate degree in banking through the University of Georgia Terry College of Business. He and his wife live in Dawsonville with their two children.

William served as senior vice president of commercial lending at River City Bank in Dawsonville and Dahlonega. He previously served as senior vice president at Pinnacle Bank and as senior vice president at Southern Bank and Trust. He also served as market leader and senior vice president at Community and Southern Bank, as senior vice president and retail banking administrator at First Citizens Bank of Georgia, and as market president at Mountain State Bank.

William currently serves as a state representative for Georgia House District 9. He was first elected in 2020 and is serving his first term. He previously served four terms years on the Dawson County Board of Education beginning in 2004.
