Jaha has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Howard University and a master's degree in oral sciences from the University of Illinois. He lives in Smyrna with his wife and 3 children. 

Jaha is a pediatric dentist and the owner of A+ Pediatric Dentistry of Atlanta. He is also the co-founder of Families Against Racism, a non-profit organization that helps families learn about and work against systemic racism in the United States. 

Jaha V. Howard previously served as a school board member for Cobb County for 4 years. He is currently an appointed member of Cobb's Transit Advisory Board.
