John Payne's campaign for the Tomball Independent School District School Board is his first run for public office.

John Payne is currently a Director of Accounting for McKesson Corporation. He is a former teacher and coach, having taught history and algebra and coached football, basketball, and track in various school districts including Lake Travis, Irving, Magnolia, and Conroe ISDs.

John is originally from Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and later returned to school to obtain his master's in business administration and CPA certification. John volunteers through the Watch D.O.G. Dad program at his children's school and organizes a team for the Alzheimer's Awareness walk. He lives with his wife Kristina and their 2 children in Tomball.
