Eric is originally from New York City. He earned a bachelor's degree from Colgate University and a law degree from George Washington University. He serves as a governing board member of the Early Head Start Program of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He previously served as president of Main Line Reform Temple and as a trustee of Colgate University, Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Endowment Corporation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. Eric lives with his wife. They have 2 sons.

Eric currently works as an attorney specializing in healthcare law. He previously worked with law firms and healthcare companies in Pennsylvania including AmeriHealth Caritas, UnitedHealthcare, and Aetna U.S. Healthcare. He began his legal career at Wolf Block and Fox Rothschild. He served on Governor Josh Shapiro's Healthcare Transition Team for Health and Human Services. He also served as deputy general counsel to Governor Tom Ridge and was elected as a Republican Committeeperson in Philadelphia and later in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.
