- The attorney general is the top lawyer in Pennsylvania and represents PA and its agencies in lawsuits that are brought by or against the state.
- The attorney general supervises hundreds of prosecutors, attorneys, and agents across four divisions: criminal law, public protection (focusing on personal rights and public interests), civil (representing Pennsylvania and upholding its Constitution), and public engagement (focusing on outreach and crime prevention). -The attorney general is responsible for collecting taxes and debts due to the state and prosecutes organized crime and public corruption cases.
- The attorney genera is elected to four-year terms and cannot serve more than two consecutive terms in office.
