Cynthia Ball was born in Franklin County and graduated as valedictorian from her public school in Franklinton. She attended UNC-Greensboro on a full academic scholarship, earning a BA in Psychology, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and later earned an MBA at Virginia Commonwealth University. Cynthia Ball has worked in marketing research after earning her MBA at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has held positions at William Peace University and NC State University, directing their Development and External Affairs programs, and served as the Executive Director of one of NC State University’s foundations.
