Chris was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina and currently resides in Kinston. He earned an associate's degree from Lenoir Community College and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Chris is married to Terry, and they have 2 daughters. He served as the President of the La Grange Chamber of Commerce and holds membership in the Kinston and Goldsboro Kiwanis Clubs, the Goldsboro Civitans, and the Rotary Club of Kinston.

Chris was appointed by Governor Pat McCrory to the Lenoir Community College Board of Trustees.

Chris Humphrey is currently a state representative in District 12. He was elected in 2018 and is serving his third term. He chairs the House Committee on Insurance. Prior to this, he was a Lenoir County Commissioner for 8 years (2 terms) and a member of the La Grange Town Council for 3 years (1 term).

Lillie is from Kinston, North Carolina. She has an associates degree in mental health, a bachelors degree in special education, a masters degree in educational supervision and an education specialist degree in educational leadership from East Carolina University. She volunteers as the education chair of the Lenoir County Chapter of the NAACP and as a chaplain for the Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
