Personal background

John graduated from North Duplin High School and continued his education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. John Bell is married to Kelli, and together they have a daughter.

Professional background

John began his professional career with the Boy Scouts of America in Goldsboro with the Tuscarora Council, covering Duplin and Sampson counties. Bell also has experience in banking, having managed a bank in Goldsboro and worked with the NC Community Credit Union. Additionally, he is a board member for RISE Capital, a private equity company with companies based throughout North Carolina.

Political background

John Bell is a state representative in District 10. He was elected in 2013, and is serving his sixth term. He was elected as the House Majority Whip in 2015 and has been the House Majority Leader since 2016, a position he has been re-elected to for consecutive sessions through 2023-2024.

Economy
