Jonathan was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He trained as a radiologic technologist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and later graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in community advocacy and social policy. He currently resides in Leland with his wife. He is the youth director at Church of the Servant Episcopal Church.
