Rebecca holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California, a master's degree in education from Framingham State University, and a doctorate degree in educational leadership and administration from Western Carolina University. She is married to her husband, with whom she has 2 children.  She is a member of the Isenberg Parent Teacher's Association and volunteers with the non-profit organization, Communities In Schools Rowan County.
