Worth Forbes is currently serving on the Pitt County Board of Education. He was first elected in 2010 and is serving his fourth term.

Worth works as a teacher at Pitt County Schools and owns a beekeeping business. He previously worked as the Associate Superintendent for Education Programs and Services at Pitt County Schools. He wrote a book titled "From the Ground Up: a Common Sense Approach to Building a Foundation for High Student Achievement."

Worth is originally from Greenville, NC. He earned a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University. He also earned a master's degree in education, a master's degree in administration, an educational specialist (Ed.S) degree, and a master's degree in theological studies from Liberty University. He is married to his wife, Karen, and has 2 children. He is an ordained minister and a pastor at Freedom Baptist Church in Ayden.
