Glenda P. Weinert is currently serving as a Buncombe County Board of Education Member. She was appointed in 2024 and is seeking her first full term. She ran for Buncombe County Commissioner in 2012, 2018, and 2020, but did not win.

Glenda owns 6 Firehouse Subs locations with her husband. Previously, she has worked as the interim executive director at the Irene Wortham Center, the owner of Little Beaver Child Care Centers, and CEO of Brightstar Healthcare.

Glenda is from Asheville, North Carolina and graduated from Asheville High School. She has a bachelors degree in accounting from Lee University, a masters of business administration in organizational management from Kennesaw State University, and a doctorate degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. Glenda and her husband Clint have a son.
