Ryan has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in geology from the University of Oregon, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in business finance from the National University, and a master's degree in global leadership from the University of San Diego. He is married to the former Lolita Hand and they have three children together. Ryan was born in Bozeman, Montana. 

Ryan is a US representative. Previously, he worked for the Trump administration and the Montana State Senate. He served in the US Navy from 1985 to 2008.

Ryan Zinke is a US Representative for Montana's District 1. He served in this role from 2015 to 2016 and from 2023 to 2024. In 2017, he was confirmed by the Senate to serve in President Trump's administration as the US Secretary of the Interior and held the position until 2019. He also served two terms on the Montana State Senate from 2009 to 2013.
