Believes literacy is a "fundamental right for all students."

Supports "policies that fund and use evidence-based programs to support the science of reading and mathematical growth in grades K- 12."

Said, "Public schools have a responsibility to teach students the Georgia standards which include teaching accurate history. What one person deems as controversial is another group's history and it's important that we not silence history to make others feel comfortable."

Believes that an "opt-in" for sex education has practical uses, but should be "a personal decision between a parent and child — not a consequence for all students."
