She was the President of the DeKalb County Council of PTAs when it was one unit, She is a Social Justice Ministry Chair at Ray of Hope Christian Church and is married with 5 children and 2 grandchildren.

She worked for Delta Air Lines, Inc. for 33 years and was a substitute teacher in DeKalb County schools.

Deirdre P Pierce is the County Board of Education Member in DeKalb County School Board District 3. She was elected to this position in 2020 and has served on term.
