Mary has a bachelors of art in history, international relations, and French from the University of South Florida. She also has a a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of South Florida. She lives with her husband and four children in Norcross, Georgia.

Mary is the CEO and President of QAP Centric Corporation. She previously worked at Zebina Whistle-Stop Farms, Extra Virgin Alliance, Weiller West, the Persuasive Agenda, and the Georgia Society of Professional Benefit Administrators. She was also employed at the Georgia Department of Labor, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the Hodges Corporation. She served in the Georgia Army National Guard and was honorably discharged for 10 years of service.

Mary West was a former Representative at the Georgia General Assembly for District 78 for 2 terms, from 1999 to 2003. She was then elected as a Senator in the Georgia State Senate for 1 term from 2003 to 2005. She is now running for Georgia's 7th Congressional District.
