Karen is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia in good standing. She has no public disciplinary actions on record.

Karen is a solo-practitioner. As a solo-practitioner, she has handled family law, real estate, bankruptcy, and criminal cases. She is a trained Guardian Ad Litem. As a guardian ad litem, she is appointed by the court to investigate a case, report her findings, and make a recommendation based upon the best interests of the child.

Karen is a certified mediator and arbitrator. As an arbitrator, she presides over disputes outside of the judicial system, listens to facts and evidence, and redners an award. As a mediator, she serves as a neutral party who facilitates negotiations between two parties to help the parties reach an agreement themselves.

Karen believes, “a judge should not only look at the law, but at the legislative intent as well to discern what were the drafter’s objectives in enacting the legislation.”

Said she would “utilize video technology to handle calendar calls, status conferences, pleas, arraignments and other matters that could easily be disposed of. This would prevent attorneys from having to appear for short announcements and save time and expenses for participants.”
