Laverne Lewis Gaskins’ campaign for Judge of the Superior Court of the Augusta Judicial Circuit is her first entry into politics.

Laverne is an attorney. She operates her own solo law practice called the Law Office of Laverne Lewis Gaskins, where she has been for two years. She previously worked at the Arizona Department of Economic Security as a contract Administrative Law Judge, Augusta University as a Senior Legal Advisor, and Valdosta State University as an University Attorney. She has also previously worked as a Special Assistant Attorney General in Georgia, the Deputy General Counsel at Tuskegee University, and an Arbitrator at the American Arbitration Association.

Laverne is from East Augusta. She attended Richmond Academy. She has a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University and a Juris Doctor from Florida State University’s College of Law.
