Jody is from Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Tucker High School. He has a bachelor's degree from Asbury College, a master's degree from Southwestern Seminary, and a doctorate degree in ministry from Lutheran Rice Seminary. He lives with his wife, Dee Dee, in Greensboro, Georgia.

Jody is a pastor. He has served churches in Barrow, Gwinnett, Taylor, and Walton counties for the past 25 years. Jody also launched a talk radio show called the Jody Hice Show.

Jody Hice is currently a US Representative representing Georgia's 10th Congressional District. He was elected in 2015. He serves on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the House Natural Resources Committee.  He serves as the Ranking Member for the Subcommittee on Government Operations for the Committee of Oversight and Reform.

- When it comes to elections, the Secretary of State is in charge of supervising and monitoring elections, managing the voter registration process, and preparing ballots.
- The Secretary of State is in charge of registering new businesses so they can legally begin operations. They are also in charge of renewing business licenses and permits.
- In addition to these responsibilities, the Secretary of State also manages and preserves public records, provides educational programs about the capitol, and oversees Georgia’s securities’ market.
