Brad is originally from Johns Creek, Georgia. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Western University and a master's degree in business administration from Georgia State University. He lives with his wife, Tricia, in Johns Creek. They attend North Point Community Church.

Brad is a civil engineer and the chairman and owner of Tendon Systems, LLC which is a contracting and engineering design firm. He also owns and operates a steel manufacturing plant in Forsyth County.

Brad Raffensperger is currently secretary of state. He was first elected in 2018 and has been in office for one term. He was a Johns Creek city councilmember from 2012 to 2014 and the state representative for district 50 from 2015 to 2018.
