Michelle is from Puerto Rico. She has a Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Georgia.

Michelle is an advocate at the State Capitol for the Georgia Work Credit. Previously, she worked for the Office of Inspector General – Department of Health and Human Services and as a professor.

Michelle's campaign for State Representative is her first entry into politics.

Wants to fund public schools by updating the funding formula. She said, "Even the two years that we fully funded public education was inadequate because the formula used to determine funding was created in 1985, and it hasn't been updated since."

Plans to "fight to ensure that every public school is a place where all children can learn, grow, and thrive."

Said, "we must protect funding from being siphoned into the private school system with vouchers and other tools designed to hamper students from learning in a public school system."

To be clear, both Republicans and Democrats are guilty of producing unfair maps (i.e., gerrymandering)."
