Chris has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Georgia and a law degree. He lives in Dunwoody with his wife and two daughters.

Chris is a lawyer. He used to be commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development from 2013 to 2016. He was Senator Johnny Isakson’s chief of staff for six years. He worked at Alston & Bird, LLP and Georgia Pacific.
