Keedar has a bachelor's degree in science from Norfolk State University. He and his wife, Courtney, have four children.

Keedar works for "Educators Now," which staffs educators in childcare facilities, grade schools, and after-school programs. He also runs "Tutor on Demand," a tutoring service for all subjects K-12 and test taking. He has worked as an actor and substitute teacher in Los Angeles, studied on Broadway in New York City and worked in Boston as a science coordinator for three independent middle schools. He is as a board member for the Black Child Development Institute in Atlanta and Rebound in Minneapolis, a group home for first-time criminal offenders.

Cynthia was born and raised in Atlanta. She has a bachelor's degree from Davidson College and and a law degree from Vanderbilt Law School. She and her husband, James F. Brown, Jr., have two children, both of whom attended Atlanta Public Schools. They go to church at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta

Cynthia is a practicing attorney. She has held leadership positions on the Boards of Atlanta BeltLine, Inc., WABE/WPBA, Calvin Center, Inc., the Atlanta Partnership for Arts in Learning, the Committee for Teaching About the United Nations/Atlanta, the Alliance Française d’Atlanta, and the Parent Teacher Associations of her children’s schools.

Cynthia Briscoe Brown is currently the Board of Education Member for Seat 8. She has served two terms in the position. She chairs the Board Development Committee of the Atlanta Board of Education and serves on the Policy Review Committee. She is running for her third and final term on the board.
