Michael Owens's campaign for mayor is his first entry into politics.

Michael is a business information security officer at Equifax. He used to work as an implementation manager at Fidelity Investments, as chief information officer at CheyCom Solutions, senior manager at SITA, and chief executive officer at Cyber Policy. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a ground radio repairman.

Michael has a bachelor's degree in information technology and electronic technology from North Carolina A&T and a master's degree in management of technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He lives with his two children.
