Katie Burke lives in Ponder, Texas. She earned her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of North Texas and her master's degree in mathematics from Texas Woman's University. She lives with her husband, Frankie, and their three children.

Katie's campaign for trustee in the Ponder Independent School District is her first run for public office.

Katie currently works as a senior customer success manager of strategic industry partnerships at Pathful Inc., and a strategic content manager at RP Impact Partners. She previously worked as a digital content manager at the Institute for Education Innovation, a team lead at FEV Tutor, an instructional coach with the Denton Independent School District, an adjunct faculty member at Texas Woman's University and the University of North Texas, the founder of Board at Home, and a secondary math teacher with the Lake Dallas Independent School District.
