He also served as chief learning officer for Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, overseeing academic strategy and district operations. Darrell concluded his full-time career as principal of Major Cheney Elementary. After retiring, he taught at North Point Christian Academy and Trinity High School. He currently works as a substitute teacher in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.
