Rocky Trahan is originally from Forked Island, Louisiana. He attended Brazosport College. He volunteers as an ambassador for the Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce. He lives with his wife, Farrah, in Angleton.

Rocky currently works as a patrol officer at the Oyster Creek Police Department, as a project manager/executive partner at FOCUSS service group, and as a K9 trainer. He has previously worked as a K9 lieutenant, a training consultant, and a waiter. 

Rocky's campaign for Angleton ISD school board trustee is his first run for political office.
