Brian Beck is from Houston, Texas. He has a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and biophysics from Texas A&M University, a PhD in biochemistry and biophysics from Washington State University, and completed post-doctoral work at the University of Houston. He and his wife, Abbie, live in the Idiot's Hill region of Northeast Denton. They have two adult children.
