Rebecca Orr earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Texas A&M University and a doctorate in cell regulation and pharmacology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. She is a textbook co-author and has served as a faculty council president and committee chair at Collin College. Rebecca lives in Lucas with her husband and three children.

Rebecca currently serves as dean of academic services for assessment, accreditation, and compliance at Collin College in McKinney, Texas. She previously served as a professor of biology at Collin College. She also served as upper school science department chair and science teacher at Legacy Christian in Frisco, and as adjunct faculty at Collin College, Washington State University Vancouver, and Concordia University-Portland. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Rebecca Orr’s campaign for Lucas City Council Member is her first run for public office.
