A passionate outdoorsman and cyclist, Mark championed expanded bike lanes and park improvements, partnering with healthcare leaders to promote healthier lifestyles. Mark and his wife, Suzanne, a special education teacher, have been married for more than three decades and raised their three children in the Texas Panhandle.

Committed to giving back, Mark pours into future leaders by guiding startups at the Texas Tech Innovation Hub and the National Science Foundation. A member of the National Academy of Inventors, he delivers creative solutions to real-world problems.

As an educator, Mark earned the 2020 Faculty Excellence Award at Amarillo College, where he taught Economics and Software Development. Next, in Congress, Mark will bring that same drive for innovation to tackle long-standing challenges and improve the lives of all Americans.

Corporations and are buying up single family homes across the country, and then they’re charging more and more and more to rent them back to you. Plainly, this isn't a housing market anymore. It's an extraction scheme, and you are paying the price. Mark will fight to end it. He'll expand federal incentives for building affordable housing in underserved communities, restrict corporations from seizing single family homes, and protect renters from predatory companies.

Our family farms are facing the cold reality of losing the land that’s been with them for generations. Mark will fight to change that. He'll work to reform federal farm programs so they deliver real, timely support to the farmers and ranchers who need it, not just the large corporate operations that don't. He'll push to expand access to new agricultural technologies, secure water rights for farming communities, and create pathways out of debt that lead to long term financial stability. He’ll work to break the monopolistic stranglehold large corporations have over our farmers’ supply chain and markets.
