Rep. Caroline Fairly is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, first elected in 2025 to represent District 87, which covers Carson, Hansford, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree, Potter, and Sherman counties in the northern Texas Panhandle, including the city of Amarillo. She is a contractor by profession and a graduate of Abilene Christian University.

Affordability & Opportunity - Cutting property taxes and business taxes, fighting back against rising costs, and making homeownership achievable so families can stay, grow, and succeed in the Panhandle.
Protecting Kids & Digital Safety - Keeping children safe at home, in the classroom, and online by holding bad actors accountable, strengthening parental rights, and making sure technology serves families—not exploits them.
Supporting Small Businesses & Growing Jobs - Small businesses keep our community thriving, It is a top priority of mine to continue supporting legislation to support small businesses and bring jobs to the Panhandle.

How should the legislature go about delivering further property tax relief? Please explain.

I’ve heard from my constituents who feel they have not received real property tax relief—and they’re right. There is more work to be done.
Next session, I will fight for solutions that deliver real, meaningful reductions in property tax bills. That means every option should be on the table. What I can commit to is this: I will fight for the best property tax plan that benefits all my constituents. Texans deserve meaningful tax relief, and next session we can and must do more.
