Biography

Judge Christopher “Chris” Gregory has served as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4 in Tarrant County since January 2019, presiding over one of the county’s highest-volume courts. A lifetime resident of Precinct 4 and graduate of Castleberry High School (Class of 1993), Judge Gregory answered a call to public service in 2004 when he earned his peace officer license and joined the Lake Worth Police Department.

Throughout his career, he rose through the ranks to Detective Sergeant, all while maintaining a deep commitment to his community.

Over his 14-year career in law enforcement, he rose through the ranks from patrol officer to Detective Sergeant, being promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2007 where he supervised the Night Patrol Shift. His dedication and service to the community earned him a Letter of Appreciation from Lake Worth Police Chief J.T. Manoushagian, Commander Rollins, and Mayor Walter Bowen.

Chris previously worked as a patrol officer, patrol sergeant, and detective sergeant with the Lake Worth Police Department.

The Commissioners Court appointed Judge Elect Christopher Gregory to the unexpired term of Justice
of the Peace, Precinct 4, effective October 16, 2018. The Auditor's Office conducted selected

Judge Gregory was first elected in November 2018 after defeating the incumbent in a Republican primary runoff and has been re-elected to subsequent terms, most recently in 2022.

- Justices of the Peace oversee Justice Courts, trial courts for civil cases up to $20,000, and misdemeanor cases punishable only by fine. They also perform marriages, issue warrants, conduct preliminary hearings, and serve as notaries.
