My name is Stephanie Baird, and I am running for Brazoria County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Place 2. I am a veteran, a nurse of nearly 16 years, and a committed community advocate.

My clinical work in correctional, mental health, and substance use facilities has strengthened my compassion, judgment, and commitment to advocating for my patients and others.

I am running to help close gaps in understanding around reproductive health and mental health, gaps I witnessed front and center observing the 88th session of the Texas Legislature.

- Justices of the Peace oversee Justice Courts, trial courts for civil cases up to $20,000, and misdemeanor cases punishable only by fine. They also perform marriages, issue warrants, conduct preliminary hearings, and serve as notaries.
