Greg is a registered professional land surveyor and the owner of Statewide Surveying, a family-owned land surveying firm. He has served as the Kaufman County Surveyor since 1999.

Greg is currently the Kaufman County Surveyor. He has held this position since 1999.

As county surveyor, oversees the surveying of all county roads, maintains the official county map, and provides the public with information on all surveyed roads.

Administration

- Files and records field notes and plats of surveys made in county, along with patents and other documents.
- Issues certificates of fact and certify correctness of a copy of any document, record or entry in their records.
- County surveyors are elected to four-year terms, have to reside in the county they are running in, and must be a registered professional land surveyor.
- Any interested persons can examine books, papers, plats, maps, other archives of this office with a payment at all times, with an additional 20 cents/100 words of record.
- Must transcribe record in good and substantial books sworn as true copies if requested by commissioners court (15 cents/100 words) and obtain transcript of lost records from commissioner and certify it.
- They can hire a deputy surveyor, chain carriers, and chain markers to assist in their work.
