Election 2024 | The Colony, TX

As a former small business owner, I identify with and will support the needs of those trying to be seen and thrive amid the hustle and bustle of our big box stores and restaurants. Finally, I will strive to see residents as people, not numbers, to be blind to economic status, color, religion or any other category which can often divide, and to address issues important to the people such as high traffic and road conditions.

PLATFORM | Vote for Wheeler2

Plans to support small businesses seeking to thrive alongside big-box stores and restaurants.

Economy

The Colony is a phenomenal city with much to offer its residents. As a Councilmember, I would advocate for more advertising of current services for the disabled and senior citizens, as well as the protection and expansion of such services. Considering our city’s
rapid growth, it is vital to ensure generous budgets for all our first responders to prepare for necessary equipment upgrades and appropriate staff support.

Public Services

The city is close to being fully developed. Great care needs to be considered regarding the use of the remaining available land. I would like to see a grocery store return to the vicinity of North Colony Blvd and 423. I am in general in favor of more residential development versus additional warehouses.

The Colony City Council Place 6 — VOTE411 Voter Guide

Wants a grocery store to return near North Colony Boulevard and State Highway 423.

Favors additional residential development over additional warehouses.

Housing & Urban Development

Supports generous first-responder budgets for equipment upgrades and staffing as the city grows.

Public Safety

The city needs to improve long standing deteriorating roads, alleys and sidewalks. Additionally, and what I believe is just as critical, is that contractors need to stay start to finish on repairs. They must not be allowed to tear up a street and then not return to complete the work for 2-3 months.
