Advocates for economic development that attracts businesses and amenities for growing families in Converse.

Water supply and business growth are two areas key for the city, she said. “The most important issue is water in Converse. It is no secret that we must have more resources to supply to the growing number of residents in our community. We must seriously decide where we will get our water, and have enough to supply our community for the next 15-20 years. Secondly, would be how we address new businesses into our area. We are in need of economic development that will attract the growing family to Converse,” she said, adding, “Growing families are looking for libraries, retail, hospitals, recreational facilities, hotels and family restaurants to enjoy, and to work close to home.”

Economy

Said she initiated an annual fish-stocking program at North Park.

“I have helped to rebuild Converse with the help of the city staff, and the current council,” she said. “I initiated the hiring of a new auditing firm, which had not been changed for 15 years; I initiated the annual fish stocking program at North Park; I have supported the partnership between Converse and the Judson ISD to complete road projects at a lower cost to both taxpaying entities; I supported the reconstruction of Topperwein Road, which had been discussed for over 15 years.”

Believes city planning should include community input and stakeholders.

“If re-elected, I will strive to build partnerships with other entities. The city is preparing to proceed with a new strategic plan to include the master plan with input from all city stakeholders. Lastly, I care about the community and the diverse positive direction in which it is going. I believe in community input and have brought new stakeholders to the table.”

Wants to continue Converse's existing street-repair program.

Enhancing Converse’s cultural and recreational features is one key issue in Paschall’s election campaign, including encouraging more visitors to enjoy the town’s parks, and helping to develop a lakeside amphitheater at City Park to accommodate musical activities and other events. Paschall added that, during her first council stint, she promoted stocking the North Park lake with fish, and feels that such a thing can be done again at another Converse lake to encourage more fishing and family activities there.

“I also want to help continue the street repair program Converse has already established,” she added.

Transportation & Infrastructure

Said Converse needs to secure enough water resources to serve its growing population for the next 15–20 years.
