2026 Pennsylvania General Election

How do you plan to address affordability concerns in Lancaster County and across Pennsylvania?

We need to make sure that the public water systems are not purchased by private companies. This raises the prices for a basic need for those with their first homes and those on limited incomes. At the state level, we also need to raise the minimum wage and then attach it to inflation. So that everyone in the district can afford basic necessities.

What is your position on data center development and regulation in Pennsylvania?

Having been in the computer industry for my entire career, there is no need for the number of data centers they are trying to build. It is strictly a giant money grab during another bubble. One that we have seen before like the dot-com bubble and the crypto currency bubble. The environmental needs of the data centers for land, water and power are just too extreme and unsustainable for what this is. So, yes, legislation at the state level working with the counties and local municipalities is needed. At least we have the farm preservation program in place for those farmers who don’t want to sell out to the data centers.

What do you see as the most important issues to address in the 48th District if elected?

We need to stop the data centers from taking over the farms in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. After that, we need to stop private companies from buying out the public water systems from local townships.

Calls for state legislation, in coordination with local governments, to regulate data centers and protect farmland, water, and power resources.

Opposes private companies purchasing public water systems from local townships.

Buket Urgen

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Strongly Agree

Pennsylvania has already expanded it quite far and has a very active lottery system of its own.

Wayne Moyer - iVoterGuide

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Line item veto to eliminate pork barrel items being added to a bill.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Disagree

The US Department of Education existed for many reasons. We need to increase access to education for all Americans and not treat the DoE as a political item.

What do you see as the most pressing issues facing residents of your district, and how would you address them?
Saving our farms from data centers. Continuing the Farmland Preservation act to allow our farmers another alternative. Improving access to the vo-tech schools throughout the district. To make sure that our high schoolers can graduate with a well paid skill and go to work without college debt. Keeping ICE out of Pennsylvania. Immigration is a federal issue and needs to be worked on.

Pennsylvania State Senator District 48 - VOTE411

Planned Parenthood provides far more services than just abortion.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Rape, incest

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Disagree

Again this is worded odd. If a parent, or guardian, is forcing that child it is one thing. If the parent is doing it at the request of the child that is something completely different.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

At the federal level there is no reason that we shouldn't have universal healthcare like most other first world nations and some second world now.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

As an IT professional I know that there are already too many databases being kept. We, first, don't yet another and especially dont need one for this reason.

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

Planned Parenthood provides far more services than just abortion.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Disagree

If you remove the ability for a woman to do this then she will find other far more destructive means.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Agree

Voting is controlled at the state level and Pennsylvania has never required photo ID because we establish ID with other methods.

What changes, if any, would you support to enable better access, ensure security, and support the processes of our elections?
Follow the existing laws we have. Keep up with IT Security for the safety of voting data as the votes are completed and implement them statewide for the booths. Make sure that Washington DC does not interfere with the States control of voting.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

Rehabilitation of the criminals so they can return to society unless their crime is so heinous that they will never be able to rehabilitate.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Basic background checks shouldnt even be an issue. The control of firearms from those with felonies shouldnt be an issue. These are just basic considerations to responsible gun ownership.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Renewables are the most reliable. Relying on hydrocarbons is for the past. It has a dwindling supply and will run out. It is time to think towards the future.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Agree

You can just look at a smoke stack or the exhaust of a truck and see pollution. It is not hidden from view. We have to protect what we have.
