2026 Pennsylvania General Election

In response to a question about improving the economic health of Somerset County and the 32nd Senatorial District, Cecil called for “an overhaul of Pennsylvania’s tax code.” He described Pennsylvania’s tax system as regressive and said: “We need a tax code that treats people fairly, provides relief to working families, and ensures the wealthiest contribute more. Our working class should not have to sacrifice quality of life just to keep their heads above water.”

Cecil said Pennsylvania’s tax system puts a disproportionate burden on working-class families. He called for changing that system, stating: “It’s time to stop putting the burden on working families, reform our tax code, restore fairness, and ensure everyone contributes their fair share.”

Calls for overhauling Pennsylvania’s tax code to reduce burdens on working families and require wealthier residents to contribute more.
