Pennsylvania State Representative District 88 - VOTE411.org

That upbringing led Sara to a twenty-year career in social work, from helping children in the foster care system to serving patients in end-of-life hospice care. She has been there with people at their worst and their best, and she has learned something along the way: you can be a perfect social worker every day and still fail because of the system.

2026 Pennsylvania General Election

What do you see as the most pressing issues facing residents of your district, and how would you address them?
Working families in the 88th district are struggling under the thumb of inflation, and the state has not invested heavily enough in what people need. We need to make affordability a focus in Cumberland County and Pennsylvania at large by pursuing investments in affordable and attainable housing, accessible healthcare, and fairly funded public schools so every family has a chance to succeed. I would push for investment, but also look closely at our existing legislation to see what can be adjusted and amended to make sure working people can have some relief, such as through tax credits and rebates.

COST OF LIVING

Sara grew up in a blue-collar family — her dad was a welder and worked his way up without a college degree. She knows how hard folks are working these days, but even with hard work, getting ahead is not guaranteed. Sara is committed to lowering everyday expenses, supporting fair wages, and making sure hard work actually pays off.

HEALTHCARE

Sara has spent her career in healthcare — from working with vulnerable kids to administering end-of-life hospice care. She knows what it looks like when the system fails people at their most vulnerable. No one should have to choose between paying bills and getting the care they need. Sara is focused on lowering costs, expanding access, and making sure patients come first.

Prioritizes lowering health care costs and expanding access to care.

EDUCATION

Sara spent the early years of her career working with kids in foster care — children whose education was disrupted along with everything else. She knows that a child's zip code should never determine their opportunities. Sara supports investing in public schools, backing teachers, and making sure every student has access to a high-quality education.

Should the state legislature enact laws concerning the impacts on water, energy, or land use from the development and operation of data centers? Would state regulation of data center development and operation interfere with the authority of municipalities to establish ordinances under the MPC (Municipal Planning Code)?
Data centers are a rapidly evolving issue, and that necessitates intervention from the state to protect our communities. I believe the state legislature should regulate data center developers and operations to ensure utility prices are not passed on to ratepayers, environmental impacts are mitigated, and communities are involved in the proposal, development, and operational processes.

Public Safety

What changes, if any, would you support to enable better access, ensure security, and support the processes of our elections?
The right to vote is central to American society, and we need to protect and support voter access while maintaining security in our elections. I would support enshrining voter protections in our state constitution, protecting mail-in ballot access, and strengthening our multilingual and disabled voter support systems, while also pushing for more investment in poll worker training and routine evaluations and upgrades of our electoral technologies.

Supports constitutional voter protections, mail-in ballot access, voter assistance, poll-worker training, and upgrades to election technology.
